Whiplash

An eloquent new publication on the bureaucratic battle for adequate injury compensation following a whiplash injury and damage to his hands and wrists.

Whiplash is a common injury generating up to 60,000 claims each year in Australia. However in 20-40% of Whiplash associated disorder cases, following a whiplash injury, symptoms of neck pain, headaches and nerve pain persist for years afterwards and little science exists for Whiplash treatment.

No injured party should have to endure what Colin Caudell experienced at the hands of bureaucrats and health professionals. ‘Whiplash – More Than Just a Pain in the Neck’ is the story of his lonely and painful journey after suffering serious whiplash associated disorder, wrist and hand pain from a car accident. The book endeavours to provide assistance and guidelines for victims and their families who may be confronted with having to make a WorkCover or third party insurance claim especially for those with condition described as late whiplash syndrome.

Testimonial

“Some of the experiences outlined by Colin are clearly inhumane. Our research program at CONROD (The University of Qld) aims to improve the understanding of the whiplash condition in order to develop improved and more effective treatments for injured people.

We are pleased that we were able to assist Colin via his involvement in our exercise trial. We will continue vital research in the area of whiplash injury with the quest to reduce the suffering experienced by so many people from such a common injury.”
